Dear Katherine,
I really like your work. I just tried rust printing this weekend and wasn’t sure how to stabilize the fabric afterwards. I did a search on rust prints and found you. At another site, someone posted that using a baking soda solution is necessary.
Can you tell me if soaking the fabric in a baking soda solution and then washing the material in a washing machine is what I should do? What amounts or proportion of baking soda to water should be used? What kind of laundry soap?
I’d appreciate any advice you could give me.
Thanks very much.
With Warm Wishes,
